BX December 31, 1962

Samuel Carson, 88, of Brantford died Monday at the Brant Sanatorium.  A son of the late Samuel and Elizabeth Carson, he was born at Edinburgh, Scotland and came to Canada 78 years ago.  He lived in Brantford most of his life.  He had been employed at the Slingsby Manufacturing Limited.  Mr. Carson was a veteran of the Boer War, and the First World War, in which he served with the 125th Battalion. Surviving are two sons, Richard E. of Brantford, and Samuel of Orillia; one sister, Mrs. J.B. (May) Gilchrist, of Brantford, one half brother, Jack Dougherty, of Port Dalhousie; three grandchildren.  His wife, the former Martha Wood died in 1954.  Mr. Carson is at the McCleister Funeral Home for service Wednesday at 2 p.m.  Interment will be in the Soldiers’ Plot, Mount Hope Cemetery.  Rev. H.A. Edwards of Riverdale Baptist Church will officiate.
