BX November 12, 1918

Mrs. Cox, 188 William Street, received a message from Ottawa this morning telling her that Sydney James Tigwell had been wounded in France. Private Tigwell was admitted to No. 6 Casualty Clearing Station suffering from a gunshot wound under heavy fire. Pte. Tigwell was widely known in Brantford. He was a star football player, and a good all round sport. He went overseas with the 125th Battalion but he was with the 54th when he was wounded. He worked on shells at the Gould Shapley and Muir factory after the war began.
