Private Thomas C. Adams Died of Consumption by Gas – Victim of Huns’ Devilishness – Was Gassed By Turks While Fighting in Mesopotamia – Member of Second Dorsets – Pte. W. Arthur Oliver is in Hospital with Concussion

The sad tidings announcing the death from consumption caused by gas poisoning, of Private T.C. Adams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Adams, 21 Emilie Street, have been received in the city. On Oct. 21, Mrs. Adams received a cablegram, which announced the death of her son in North Molton, Devon, England, he having been stricken with tuberculosis as a result of the deadly yellow clouds of poison which the Germans introduced in the present war. Private Adams was a member of the Second Battalion, Dorset Regiment, and had served seven years in India, prior to the expiration of his period of service. Private Adams was engaged in the present war in the Persian Gulf and in the Garden of Eden. Deceased, who was 24 years of age, was buried at Combe Martin Devon.
