Private Thomas Joseph Cahill of Brantford Killed – Five Other Members of 84th Battalion Are Reported Killed in Action

Mrs. Cahill, of 324 Jarvis Street, Toronto, has received an official telegram stating that her husband, Thomas Joseph Cahill, has been killed. He enlisted August 21, 1915, with the 84th Battalion and was later transferred to one of the senior Toronto battalions as a stretcher-bearer. He spent about four months in the trenches. Private Cahill was born in Brantford 36 years ago. Before enlisting he was employed in Fleming’s photograph studio on Yonge Street, Toronto. He was a Roman Catholic by religion, and besides his wife, leaves a small son.
