Obituary – Private Thomas Henry Claringbould

The death occurred in the hospital this morning after an illness of only ten days of Private Thomas Claringbould, formerly of 89 Darling Street in his 28th year. The deceased served in the Canadian forces overseas and only two months ago married an English girl. His death is indirectly due to injuries received while on active service, and he was in receipt of a pension at the time of his death. The funeral will take place on Friday from 175 Wellington Street to Mount Hope cemetery.

The funeral of the late Private Thomas Henry Claringbould took place December 26. Rev C.E. Jeakins conducted services at the home of his cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Harris, 175 Wellington Street. The remains were interred in the soldiers plot in Mount Hope. The pallbearers from the G.W.V.A. were Comrades J. Hutcheon, W. Oliver, J. McDonald, J. Jackson, J. Howting, W. Lyle, Phil. King, and A. Davis. His wife, his cousins, Mr. And Mrs. Harris, his parents and sisters in England, are left to mourn his loss.
