BX June 1, 1917

Mrs. Sarah Ann Royle of this city yesterday had definite word that her husband, Pte. Thomas Royle had been killed in action on May 3. Mrs. Royle a short time ago noticed in the casualty list her husband’s number, but the name was not correct. She immediately wired Ottawa and yesterday received a telegram stating that her husband had been reported killed. On attestation, her husband had given his next of kin’s address as England. After he enlisted Mrs. Royle went to England, but sometime ago returned to Canada and is now residing at 74 Emilie Street.

BX August 7, 1917
