Tom Stone
Tome Stone, 29 Elgin Street, died Wednesday in the Brantford General Hospital, in his 66th year. He was born in Sheffield, England, the son of the late Joseph Stone and Martha Newberry, and had been a resident of Brantford for the past 44 years. He was a member of St. Luke’s Anglican Church for many years and served as a member of the churches’ board of management. Mr. Stone was a member of Harmony Lodge, IOOF, of which he was past noble grand. He was also a member of Ozias Lodge, AF and AM, and the Telephone City Branch of the Canadian Legion. During the First World War, he served overseas as a regimental quartermaster sergeant with the 36th Battalion. Until 1932 Mr. Stone was employed with the Buck Stove Company and since then had been with the London Life Insurance Company. Surviving besides his widow, the former Elizabeth Dann, are two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Ivy) Gore, Brantford, Mrs. E.O. (Dorothy) Pamplin, Aylmer; two sons, Cyril T. Stone, Brantford, George Stone, Hamilton, and five grandchildren. Mr. Stone is resting at Thorpe Brothers’ Funeral home. The service will be conducted Saturday at St. Luke’s Anglican Church at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Tom Stone
A large number of friends and relatives attended the funeral of Tom Stone, 29 Elgin Street, conducted Saturday afternoon at St. Luke’s Anglican Church. Before the church service, a private service was held at Thorpe Brothers’ Funeral Home, with the Rev. C.V. Tomkins of St. Luke’s Anglican Church officiating. Members of the Board of Management of St. Luke’s of Harmony Lodge IOOF, Ozias Lodge AF and AM, the Telephone City Branch of the Canadian Legion and the staff of the London Life Insurance Company were in attendance. The many floral tributes attested to the esteem in which Mr. Stone was held. The pallbearers were Clarence Stark, London; Roger Fisher, Howard Hinton, William Phipps, Ajax; Norv Powless, Hamilton and James Barr. Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery. On Friday evening services were conducted at Thorpe Brothers’ Funeral Home under the auspices of Harmony Lodge IOOF and Ozias Lodge AF and AM. NG. Gordon Wells, in charge of the Harmony Lodge service, was assisted by Chaplain Donald Carson. The Masonic service, under the auspices of Ozias Lodge was conducted by WM Frank Coker, assisted by RWB William Feldkamp and WBs J. Buchanan, E. Lavery, P. Worthington, F. Scace, R.E. Geil and R. Scott.
