Thomas Edward Walton

The funeral of Thomas E. Walton, who passed away Sunday at his home in Ayr in his fifty-fourth year, was conducted Tuesday, with services in charge of Rev. J.W. Currie, and with interment in Ayr Cemetery.  Mr. Walton, who was born in Brantford, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Norman Walton, was a veteran of the First Great War, and since that time he had suffered as a result of wounds and gas.  He enlisted with the 111th Battalion and went overseas with that unit.  Transferred to the Royal Canadian Regiment while in England, he served with that regiment in France.  He was a member of the United Church, a Mason and an Odd Fellow, and a member of the 111th Battalion Association at Galt.  Surviving are three brothers, William, Furnace Falls; Charles, Guelph, and Bert, with the Veterans’ Guard at Montreal, and two sisters, Mrs. Eph. Hawes, Ayr, and Miss Sadie Walton, Ayr.
