BX May 31, 1917

Word has been received by Mrs. John Stevenson, 241 Greenwich Street, that Private Walter Biddle who enlisted from there with the first overseas battalion for the Dufferin Rifles had been wounded. He was wounded in the right arm and is now in the Third General Hospital, Newport, Monmouthshire. He was formerly employed at the Massey-Harris plant.

Walter Biddle of Hamilton died Sunday at the Hamilton General Hospital in his 66th year.  He was born in London, England, and lived in Brantford for a number of years before moving to Hamilton 32 years ago.  He was a member of Grace Anglican Church, Hamilton.  He was employed with the E. Eaton Company, Hamilton for six years.  Mr. Biddle is a veteran of the First World War.  Surviving are Mrs. Biddle and three sisters, Ida of Australia, Jessie and Gertrude of England.  Mr. Biddle is resting at the Thorpe Funeral Home, 483 Concession Street, Hamilton, for service Wednesday at 1 p.m.  Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
