Wilfred Glover

The death of Wilfred Glover, 22 Cayuga Street, occurred suddenly Monday afternoon at Grove Farm, near the City.  Mr. Glover was born at Norwich fifty-five years ago, the eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nelson A. Glover.  The deceased had been a resident of Brantford for the past fifteen years.  He was a veteran of the First Great War, enlisting at Brantford in July, 1915 and serving with the C.E.F. in France and Belgium.  In 1919 he married Miss Maude Hartzel, Norwich.  Left to mourn his loss besides a sorrowing widow, are his mother, Mrs. Almira Glover, Scarborough Junction; a sister, Mrs. Lavina McLaren, Hamilton and three brothers, George W. Scarborough Junction; James, Oshawa and Emerson, Scarborough Junction.  Mr. Glover’s father passed away in 1918.  The late Mr. Glover is resting at the McCleister Funeral Home, 48 Brant Avenue, where service will be conducted Thursday afternoon.  Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Wilfred Glover

Largely attended funeral services were conducted at McCleister Funeral Home, Thursday afternoon for Wilfred Glover, numerous beautiful floral tributes and many friends expressing deep sympathy at his sudden passing.  Rev. W.O. Bristol, Riverdale Baptist Church, was in charge of the services at the home and the graveside, assisted by Rev. Weyburn E. Smith, Immanuel Baptist Church.  The “Last Post” was sounded by Harold Edwards of the Brantford Boy’s Band. The pallbearers were Arthur Cavin, John Wade, Charles Cole, and representing the Canadian Legion, H.R. Edwards, J. Wilde and Harold Fisher.  Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
