BX October 15, 1918

Mrs. Bell, 66 Oxford Street, has received official word that her son, Private William Henry Fletcher Bell had been wounded on Sept. 27. Pte. Bell, who was formerly an employee of the pork factory, left with the 125th and was transferred to the First Battalion.

William Bell

William Bell, 4 Brunswick Street, died at the Brantford General Hospital Sunday morning in his forty-first year, following a lengthy illness.  The late Mr. Bell was well-known, having lived in Brantford all his life.  He was an adherent of First Baptist Church. Surviving besides his widow, are his mother and one sister, Mrs. R. Girdlestone, of this City.  The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at Reid and Brown’s Chapel with interment in Farringdon Burial Ground.

William Bell

The funeral of William Bell, 4 Brunswick Street, was conducted on Tuesday afternoon from Reid and Brown’s Funeral Chapel.  The funeral was largely attended by relatives and friends.  The Native Sons of Canada, of which the deceased was a member, attended in a body and had their service at the graveside.  During the service Mrs. Reg hall sang two beautiful solos, “He Knows” and “God Be With You Till We Meet Again,” accompanied on the console of the chapel organ by Mrs. John Schultz.  The services were in charge of Rev. Walter T. Steven, Pastor of park Baptist Church.  Interment was made in Farringdon Burial Ground.  The pallbearers were: H. Baer, J. Wilxox, W. Earl, W. Roantree, H. Charlton and L. Schuler, all members of the Native Sons of Canada.
