Resigned to Join Overseas Corp – William Hewitt Dewar, Brantford man, Retires as Christian Endeavor Secretary

W.H. Dewar, an old Brantford boy who, since July 1914 has held the position of field secretary of the Manitoba Christian Endeavor Union, Winnipeg, presented his resignation at a meeting of the executive of the association. Mr. Dewar has stated that his resignation was necessitated owing to his intention to enlist in the Canadian Expeditionary Forces. All the members of the executive present paid tribute to the excellent work he had accomplished and wished him health and success in the future.
    
Of  Mr. Dewar the Manitoba Free Press says:  

During his term of secretary ship Mr. Dewar has been largely instrumental in keeping up the strength of the association and maintaining it as one of the most prominent organizations in the province.”

Mr. Dewar is a son of Mr. John Dewar of the Waterous Engine Works Company and Mrs. Dewar, and is well known in the city, where he was educated and resided until about six years ago.
