Letters and documents

BX October 9, 1918

Mrs. William Roberts, 72 Dundas Street, was another to receive the fatal yellow envelope this morning. The message stated that her husband, Private William Edmond Scarnol Roberts had received a gunshot wound in the left foot on September 29, and that he was in a French hospital at Boulogne. Pte. Roberts went overseas with the 215th Battalion, and went to France early in April with the 50th. Many in Brantford knew him well. He was employed in the Ham and Nott factory before he gave himself to the cause.
