William Edgar Simpson Reported Missing

Alderman and Mrs. Simpson, 105 Park Avenue, will have the sympathy of many friends when they learn that their son, Private William Edgar Simpson, who left Brantford about a year ago, has been missing since August 10. Private Simpson left with the artillery, and had been in France only a short time.

The first casualty list issued from Ottawa for some time this morning contained the name of William Edgar Simpson of Brantford, who was previously reported as missing. He is now reported as presumed to have died.

William Edgar Simpson Presumed Dead

Word was received yesterday that William Edgar Simpson, of the 38th Battalion, C.E.F., who was reported, “Missing, August 10, 1918,” has now been for official purposes, presumed to have died on or since the above date. Edgar was the second son of Ald. Henry Simpson, and was 19 years of age when he made the supreme sacrifice.
