Private W. Waghorn is Recommended For Taking G.S. Wagon to the Support Trench Under Fire

The many friends of Private William Waghorn, formerly of this city will be pleased to learn that he has been recommended for special mention in the regimental orders at the front under date of June 10 last. When detailed on the night of June 6 to proceed with G.S. wagon loaded with lumber to the supports, he took charge of it when the driver was hit with shrapnel and no brakeman with him. He saw the wounded man taken to the dressing station and then proceeded himself, with wagon, to the support trench, unloaded it and brought it back and handed it over to the non-commissioned officer in charge of the wagons. During all this time there was considerable shelling on the road.
