William Mansfield Williams

William M. Williams of 56 Collington Drive, formerly of Market Street, died Thursday in the Brantford General Hospital in his 64th year.  He was born in Plymouth, Eng., coming to Canada in 1912.  During the First World War, he enlisted in Hamilton with the 121st Battalion and served overseas with the 98th Battalion.  Returning to Brantford after the war, he learned his trade as an interior decorator with the late Edward J. Gray and later opened a paint and wallpaper store on Market Street, retiring in June 1958.  He was a member of Wellington Street United Church, and a member of the board of stewards.  Surviving are one son Edward J. Williams of Brantford; one daughter, Mrs. William (Edith M.) Lonergan of St. Catharines; four brothers, Stafford, Stanley, Wesley and Reginald, all in England, and eight grandchildren.  His wife, the former Hazel M. Gray predeceased him in February, 1952.  Mr. Williams is resting at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home.  Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
