Fred Webb formerly resided at 7 Elizabeth Street, was a machinist and single. He went overseas with the first overseas battalion from the 38th Dufferin Rifles.

BX June 25, 1917

Mrs. W.A. Webb, of 11 Elisabeth Street, received the heart-rending news on Saturday that her son, Pte. Fred Webb had been killed in action. The news was particularly saddening as every male member of this family is overseas. She has five sons in all and three went with the 125th Battalion, the fourth with the 36th Battalion. The hero who is now reported killed in action went overseas with a draft from the 25th Brant Dragoons. He was an electrician by trade and formerly worked at the Brantford Screw works. Two grown-up sisters here survive him.
