One from Brantford

Among the men invalided home from Salisbury Plain is Herbert Atkin, Paris. Among the 14 men dismissed from the contingent is one of a Brantford man. The identity was not made public. In all 38 men, who left with the first contingent, have been returned to Canada.

Herbert James Atkin

Herbert J. Atkin, husband of Ada Walker, died Sunday at his home in Paris. Born in Nottingham, England, sixty-three years ago, Mr. Atkin came to Canada in 1910, residing in Hamilton until five years ago. Surviving beside his widow are two sons, Ernest and Collis; one daughter, Mrs. G. Ranstead (Annie) and two granddaughters, all of Hamilton, and four sisters, Mrs. H. Peters (Alice), Willowdale; Mrs. F. Fisher (Rose), Toronto; Mrs. T. Spencer (Daisy), and Mabel, both of Nottingham, England. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at McCammon Funeral Parlors, Paris. Interment will be in the Paris Cemetery.
