Saw Prisoners

Private Robert Henry Staats, C. Company, 107th Battalion, “Somewhere in France,” writing to his brother, Alexander Staats, Newport, comments that Fritz opens up his music box without warning when they are going into the trenches but the boys are getting accustomed to the shells now. The only Germans he had seen were either prisoners or aviators, many of the latter being brought down by the Allied airmen.
