Veteran Dies From Gas Poison – Private Abraham Sowers Lungs Were Effected and He Died Last Night

Another of the Brant County boys has now made the supreme sacrifice, passing away in the Hamilton Sanatorium last night, in the person of Abraham Sowers. Private Sowers was severely gassed overseas and his lungs were seriously affected so that he went to find a cure in the Sanatorium, but never recovered. He was 32 years of age, and was born near Scotland, being the son of the late Henry Sowers and Mrs. Sowers. He is survived by his mother, who lives in Eagle place, one brother, who lost his leg in the war, and one sister, Mrs. Mulligan, 8 Ruth Street. The remains were brought to the city today and the funeral will take place from the home of Mrs. Mulligan on Friday, and interment will be made in Scotland cemetery.
