Arthur Webster

Frederick Arthur (Doc) Webster of 46 Allenby Avenue, died Saturday in the Brantford General Hospital, after a long illness.  He was born in Brantford 68 years ago, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick David Webster, and was a lifelong resident of Brantford.  He served in the First World War with the 125th Battalion and the Canadian Army Corps.  Presbyterian by faith, Mr. Webster attended Knox Presbyterian Church when health permitted. Surviving besides his widow, the former Gladys Little is a son, Daniel J. Webster; two daughters, Mrs. Rosaire (Jean) Ladouceur and Mrs. Daniel (Nellie) McFadden, and eight grandchildren, all of Brantford.  Mr. Webster is resting at the Beckett Funeral Home until Tuesday for service at 3.30 p.m.  Interment will be in the Soldiers’ Plot in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Arthur Webster

The funeral of Frederick Arthur (Doc) Webster was conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Becket Funeral Home.  Rev. Howard Smith of Knox Presbyterian Church and padre of Branch 90, Canadian Legion, officiated.  There was a large attendance at the service with representations present from veterans and business groups of Brantford and Knox Church.  There was a display of floral tributes.  Pallbearers, all members of Branch 90 Canadian Legion, were Hugh Middleton, Reg Mock, James Turner, Frank Houlden, Fred Casey and Louis Barber.  David Monkman was in charge of the Legion bearers.  Interment was in the Soldiers’ Plot in Mount Hope Cemetery.
