Chester L. Sivyer

Chester Linton Sivyer, 68, of Detroit, died Saturday at his residence.  He was born in St. George, a son of the late Henry and Hattie Drake Sivyer.  Mr. Sivyer started with the Merchants’ Bank as a young man in St. George.  He enlisted with the 125th Battalion, Brantford, and was wounded in France during the First World War.   He later moved to Detroit with the bank.  He was on the sales staff of General Electric until retiring.  Surviving besides his wife, the former Mildred Rachel Stuart, are on son, Donald of Southfield, Mich.; one daughter, Mrs. James (Ann) Carey of Livonia, Mich.; one brother, William Merton Sivyer of Rockwood, Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. P.C. (Elisa) Trendell, Mrs. Walter (Emma) Jackson, Mrs. Rose Misener, all of St. George; 10 grandchildren.  Funeral service and interment will be held on Tuesday in Detroit.
