Mr. Edward John Vessey, who was a teller in the Bank of Montreal for many years and was very popular in town, is reported among the killed in the recent battle.

In the casualty lists of the recent fighting there appear the names of two well-known Brantford boys in the persons of Walter R. Creighton and Edward John Vessey, both formerly of the Bank of Montreal. The former, who is the son of Mrs. M.A. Creighton of 112 Dufferin Avenue, this city, enlisted with the 60th Battalion of Montreal and had command of a company. He was at first reported seriously wounded, but a cable message this morning conveyed the more cheerful news that he had just been wounded in the foot and that his injuries were not serious.
