Met Death at the Front – Young Man from Onondaga Meets a Hero’s Death While Fighting for the Empire and Human Liberty

Mr. Burrill, of the Onondaga River Road, received a telegram yesterday conveying the sad intelligence that Egerton Fernley had been killed in action.

The young man, who was especially well and favourably known throughout Onondaga Township, was brought in by the Mulligan’s. He was 28 years of age and left for the North West some two years ago. When the call came for men he felt it to be his duty to offer his services and he enlisted to Saskatoon.

He has met a heroic end and his memory will not alone be cherished by the family with whom he lived so long but also by a large number of County residents.
