Circumstances of Casualty: Killed in Action. This soldier was in Headquarters section and was advancing up the main street in the village of Hasnon, when he was hit on the head by a machine gun bullet, killing him instantly.

Mrs. Alice Breed, 64 Palace Street, has received the sad intelligence that her husband, Frederick Albert Breed, was killed in action on October 20. Private Breed went overseas with the 125th Battalion and was a former employee of the Slingsby Company. He had been previously wounded.

Report of Death

Mrs. Alice Breed, 64 Palace Street, has received a copy of the report setting forth the circumstances under which, her husband, Private Frederick Albert Breed, who went overseas with the 125th Battalion, met his death. During the military operations in the vicinity of the village of Hasnon on October 20, 1918 and while advancing up the main street, Private Breed was instantly killed by a bullet from an enemy machine gun. Mrs. Breed received the brief official telegram on November 3, and until yesterday no further message or information came to her, only her own mail back again. Private Breed had been transferred to the 4th Battalion in France.

Mrs. Alice Breed, 171 Market St., has received word from Ottawa that her husband, Pte. Frederick Albert Breed is in the 20th General hospital at Camiers. He was admitted on June 19 suffering from a gunshot wound in the chest and shoulders.
