Circumstances of Casualty: He and a comrade left the rear headquarters of their Company about 2 p.m. on the 15th August, 1917, to return to Loos with some tools they had been sent for. As they were nearing Loos a shell burst nearby. Both men were severely wounded by the explosion, and sapper Parker died shortly afterwards on reaching a dressing station.

Word has been officially received by friends in town that Sapper Frederick Parker was killed in action on August 15th. Sapper Parker was employed with the Brandon Shoe Co., of this city for three years. He enlisted with the 35th Battalion and has been overseas two years.
