Circumstances of Casualty: Killed in Action. Was with his platoon during the advance on Beaufort and Rouvroy-en-Santerre, when he was hit by an enemy machine gun bullet and instantly killed.

Private George Davies was killed in action on August 9th, leaving behind him a sorrowing wife and one child. Private Davies left here with the 125th and went to France with the 2nd Canadian contingent. He lived in Brantford at 11 Webling Street and was employed by the Reach Sporting Goods Co. His parents Mr. and Mrs. J. Davis reside at Brighton Place.
