George Knight of 78 Chatham Street died in the Brantford General Hospital in his 75th year. Mr. Knight was born in London, England, and had been a resident of Brantford for the past 50 years. He was a molder by trade and a former employee of the Malleable Iron Foundry. A veteran of the First World War, he was a life member of the Brantford Ex-Imperial Social Club. He was an adherent of the Evangel Pentecostal Tabernacle. In 1941 he was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Noys and in 1956, by his son, William. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Emery (Ivy) Billvard of Brantford and Mrs. Charles (Doris) Struck of Cornwall; four grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Eli (Lizzy) Neaves, Mrs. Samuel Cheesman, and Mrs. William (Kate) Rodwell, all of Ingersoll; two brothers, William and Alfred of Brantford. Mr. Knight is resting at the Beckett Funeral Home for services on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the family plot, Mount Hope Cemetery.

George Knight
The funeral of George Knight was conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Beckett Funeral Home for a large attendance of relatives and friends. Rev. Victor Brown of the Evangel Pentecostal Church conducted the service, assisted by Bri. Victor McLean of the Salvation Army Citadel. Many floral tributes, cancer cards and Gideon Bibles were dedicated to Mr. Knight’s memory. “Beyond the Sunset,” and “Good Night and Good Morning” was sung by Mrs. Victor Brown, accompanied by Markwell Perry at the organ. A representation from the Brantford Ex-Imperial Veterans Social Club, led by President Victor Bishop, formed a guard of honor. Mr. Brown paid testimony to Mr. Knight’s Christian character and service to his community. Pallbearers were William Jordon, Gordon, Reginald and Douglas Knight, Jack and Ernest Cheesman, all nephews. Interment was in the family plot in Mount Hope Cemetery.
