Harold Twidale

Harold Twidale, 80, formerly of Brantford, died Monday in Stratford General Hospital.  He was born in London, England, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Twidale and came to Canada in 1910.  For many years, he resided in Brantford, where he was with Massey-Ferguson Limited, until 1926.  Mr. Twidale was caretaker at the Brantford Public Library for seven years, retiring in 1937.  He was a member of St. Jude’s Anglican Church, and a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and served with the 13th Battery, Royal Canadian Artillery.  Surviving are a son, William Harold Twidale of Toronto; two daughters, Mrs. Leslie (Grace) Edwards of Stratford, Mrs. D. (Mary Elizabeth) Wright of Erindale; two sisters in South Africa and one sister in England; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild.  His wife, the former Alice Louise Everett, died in 1948.  Mr. Twidale is at the McCleister Funeral Home for service Thursday at 2.30 p.m.  Rev. R.A.E. Ruch will officiate.  Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
