Private Harry Pratt, infantry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pratt, 16 Rose Avenue, was admitted to the 16th General Hospital, Le Treport, France on August 15, 1917 suffering from gunshot wound in the knee. Word from Ottawa was received to this effect yesterday.
Private Pratt was the seventh man to enlist in Brantford at the time war was declared. At Valcartier he was rejected, but later signed up with the 84th Battalion with which he went overseas. He is 24 years of age, and came to Brantford with his parents 10 years ago from Glasgow, Scotland. He is a steamfitter by trade, has been in the trenches one year, having been once previously wounded.
His brother, Private Jack Pratt, arrives in the city tonight home on furlough, after three years in uniform. Pte. J. Pratt’s wife died one year ago in England, and he is bringing his young daughter home to Canada with him.

Mrs. Mary Pratt, 16 Rose Avenue, received a cable yesterday stating that her son, Private Harry Pratt, infantry had been gassed on October 12. Private Pratt has been wounded three times and this is the second time he has been gassed. He was originally of the 84th Battalion.

In an additional list of casualties issued from Ottawa today E. Brooker, Brantford, is reported as ill and H. Pratt of this city is reported to have been gassed.
