Henry J. Broome
Henry John Broome, beloved husband of Edna McGowan, died at his residence in Ottawa Thursday in his forty-third year. Since leaving Brantford some years ago, Mr. Broome lived at Montreal, and the past two and a half years at Ottawa, where he was employed by Charles Ogilvy Limited. He was a member of Park Baptist Church, of Doric Lodge, A.F. and A.M. and served overseas in the Great War joining the 54th Battery from Brantford. Surviving are his widow, two daughters, Yvonne and Patsy; a son, Henry John jr.; his parents Mr. and Mrs. F.H. Broome, City, and a brother, Melvin F. Broome, City. The deceased will arrive in Brantford this evening by C.N.R. and will rest at Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home, West Street, where the funeral will be held Sunday afternoon. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

The funeral of Henry John Broome was conducted from Thorpe Brothers’ Funeral Home, West Street, Sunday afternoon, rev. C.R. Duncan, Pastor of Park Baptist Church was in charge of the service. The funeral was largely attended and a great number of friends were present from out of town. Beautiful floral tributes marked the high esteem in which the deceased was held. The pallbearers were Charles Ludlow, Fred Ott, Mayor R.J. Waterous, S. Isbister, E. Pettit and P. Unsworth. Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
