Henry Edward Ward
Henry Edward (Harry) Ward, beloved husband of Catharine McGrath, passed away Friday morning at his residence, 77 Palace Street, in his seventy-third year after a lingering illness. Mr. Ward was a veteran of the First Great War, having served with the 84th Battalion. He was a member of the Anglican Church and the Canadian Legion and was employed by the City of Brantford for 23 ½ years. Surviving his loss besides his sorrowing widow are four daughters, Mrs. P. Decator, Mrs. E. Maddock, Mrs. F. Rowen and Mrs. H. Meadowcroft, all of Brantford, one son, H. Ward, Detroit Mich. And twenty-four grandchildren, one of whom is Henry Edward Ward, on active service with the 48th Highlanders. The deceased is resting at Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home where funeral service will be held Monday afternoon. Interment will be in the Soldiers’ Plot in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Funeral services for Henry Edward Ward, 77 Palace Street, were held at Thorpe Brothers’ Funeral Home Monday afternoon. Rev. B.A. Silcox of St. James’ Anglican Church officiated, and interment was in the Soldiers’ Plot at Mount Hope Cemetery, where “Last Post” was sounded by Corporal C. Hockin. The pallbearers wee W. Thompson, A. Mattice, S.G. Hanlon, all representing the Brantford Branch of the Canadian Legion.
