Herbert Easto
The death of Herbert Easto, 35 Sarah Street, husband of the late Janet Ling, occurred Thursday at the Winston Pavilion, in his 95th year. Born at Diss, Norfolk, England, he came to Canada 44 years ago. While in England, he was a fine art decorator. In Canada, he followed interior decorating and upholstering until he retired 20 years ago. He was a veteran of the First World War, as a bandsman with the 215th Battalion Brass Band. Mr. Easto was a member of the Anglican Church. He is survived by two sons, Sidney J. and George C., and four daughters, Mrs. Ellen Bland, Mrs. Harold (Mabel) Witton, Mrs. Agnes Winter, Mrs. Cecil (Janet) Elliott, all of Brantford; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. His wife died nine years ago. Mr. Easto is resting at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home until Saturday for service in the chapel at 2.30 p.m. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

The funeral of Herbert J. Easto was conducted Saturday afternoon at the Hill and Robinson Chapel. Rev. Canon F.W. Schaffter of St. Jude’s Anglican Church officiated. The many friends and relatives in attendance and the profusion of floral tributes testified to the esteem in which Mr. Easto was held. The pallbearers were Clarence Easto, Irvin Easto, Ernest Easto, Norman Elliott, Lewis Witton and Bert Carpenter, all grandsons of Mr. Easto. Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
