Herbert Edward Yallop

The death occurred in the Brantford General Hospital Sunday morning of Herbert Edward Yallop, in his fifty-sixth year.  Born in England, Mr. Yallop came to Brantford thirty-three years ago.  He enlisted with the famous “Mad Fourth” and was later transferred to the 1st Battalion overseas.  He served four years and seven months in France, and during that time contracted trench fever and was gassed. His health has been poor since his return from overseas.  Mr. Yallop was entitled to wear the Mons Star, Service and Victory medals and the Long Service Medal.  He belonged to the 1st Battalion Association.  For the last eight years he lived at Maple Grove.  He leaves to mourn his loss his widow; two sons, George and Herbert, Brantford; his mother, Mrs. Herbert Yallop, England; two brothers, Ernest and Fred, England; and two sisters, Flossie and Maud, also in England.  Mr. Yallop is resting at the Beckett Funeral Home until Wednesday afternoon when service will be held to Mount Hope Cemetery.
