James A. Carter

James Arthur Carter passed away Friday evening at the Brantford General Hospital in his sixty fourth year.  He was born in Kelvin, Ont., and was a son of the late James Carter and Hannah Burkholder.  He had been a resident of this city for many years.  Mr. Carter served overseas in the First World War with the 125th Battalion.  Left to mourn are two daughters, Mrs. A. Corns, London, Ont., and Mrs. J. Fennell, Brantford; four sons, Lloyd, Toronto; James and Charles, London, and Jack, Brantford, and one brother, Louis Carter, Detroit.  Mr. Carter is resting at Thorpe Brothers’ funeral Home, where the service will be conducted Monday afternoon, with interment in Mount Hope Cemetery.

James A. Carter

The funeral of James Arthur Carter was conducted Monday afternoon from Thorpe Brothers’ Funeral Home.  Rev. T.A. Carmichael, Minister of Balfour Street United Church, was in charge.  During the service at the Funeral Home, Mrs. Donald Birkett sang “Rock of Ages,” and was accompanied at the organ by M.E. Foster.  The pallbearers were G. Smith, H.S. Fennell, J.R. Fennell, George Smith, H. Meggitt and J. Doy.  Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
