James Franklin Davis
James F. Davis, 75 of 10 Jarvis Street, died Monday in the Brantford General Hospital. He was born at Fargo, N.D. the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Davis, and had been a resident of Brantford the past 71 years. Mr. Davis was a former employee of the Massey-Ferguson Verity Works for 33 years, retiring in 1959, and was a member of the company’s Quarter Century Club. He was a veteran of the First World War, serving overseas. Mr. Davis was a member of Branch 90, Royal Canadian Legion, the Army, Navy and Air Force Club, and the Brantford Senior Citizens. Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Moore; three sons, Charles, of Ottawa, Lorne, of Brantford, Harold, of Anniston, Alta.; two daughters, Mrs. John (Clara) Gadsby and Miss Lexie Davis, both of Brantford; two step-sons, Jerry and Lionel Wickson; and one step-daughter, Mrs. John (Shirley) Brown, all of Brantford; one brother, Joseph of Brantford; three sisters, Mrs. Wilbur (Eva) Telfer, Mrs. James (Mary) Hunter, both of Mount Pleasant, Mrs. August (Lillian) Chiasson, of Brantford; 32 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Mr. Davis is at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home until Thursday, for service in the chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the Soldiers’ Plot at Mount Hope Cemetery.
