A Sudden Death at the Armories - Private James Potts Found ill on Floor and Died Shortly Afterwards

With startling suddenness Private James Potts of the 215th Battalion died yesterday afternoon. During the morning Potts was found lying sick on the floor of the armories and was taken to the room used for light duty patients and given treatment. His condition at the time did not appear to be serious. On the next visit being made to ascertain his condition he was found to be dead.

A medical board was convened but it had not made known its finding this morning. Dr. Hicks, coroner, was called but he decided that an inquest was unnecessary. Potts came from Delhi to enlist and he is survived by a wife and three children. The funeral will take place to Simcoe, the body being shipped there over the L.E. & N. this morning. An escort of 20 men and the band accompanied the remains to the station.
