John Ainsworth

The funeral of John Ainsworth, who died on Tuesday at Elmira, N.Y., was held yesterday afternoon at the Salvation Army Citadel, Paris.  Mr. Ainsworth was a member of the Paris Corps about sixteen years ago and at that time occupied the position of bandmaster.  Lately his home has been in Binghamton, N.Y., where he was active in Salvation Army service.  The service was conducted by Adjutant s. Harrison, assisted by Adjutant Daniels, Elmira N.Y., and Adjutant E. Howells, Lockport, N.Y.  The funeral was largely attended and there were many floral tributes.  During the service, Mr. George Sparks spoke of the many active and happy years which Mr. Ainsworth spent in Paris. A sacred duet “Face to Face,” was rendered by Mrs. Sparks and Mrs. Harrison.  The pallbearers were Harry Howells, Charles Short, Charles Matthias, Charles Bragg, Harold Bragg and William Hibbert.
