Brantford Casualties

The Brantford casualty list continues to grow. This morning a number of others in addition to those listed yesterday were reported.

The following is the telegram received by Mr. J. Moffat, 29 Nelson Street:

“Sincerely regret to inform you that 117425, Lance Corporal John Kitching Moffat, infantry officially reported admitted to one convalescent depot, Boulogne, April 12, 1917, severely wounded in back and thigh.”

He enlisted at Red Deer, February 23, 1915, with the 12th C.M.R. and went overseas on October 1, 1915. He has come through some terrible battles, most of his battalion being wiped out at Ypres. He was transferred and did his bit on the Somme. He has been in the trenches since January 1916, having been a bomb thrower and working with the machine guns.
