John Edward Waugh

John Edward Waugh, 79 of 11 Jubilee Avenue, died Wednesday at the Brantford General Hospital.  Born in Rochdale, Lancashire, England, he had been a resident of Brantford for the past 52 years.  He served in the navy during the First World War.  He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and St. Paul’s Anglican Church. Mr. Waugh was employed by the Slingsby Manufacturing Company for 40 years, retiring in 1956.  Surviving are his wife, the former Violet May Perrott; fours stepsons, Kenneth and Osmond Perrott of Brantford, Donald and Eric Perrott of Toronto, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Edward (Audrey) Sleet of Brantford; and a sister, Mrs. Maggie Garlick of Rochdale.  Mr. Waugh is at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home for service Saturday at 2 p.m.  Interment will be in the Soldiers’ Plot, Mount Hope Cemetery.
