Joseph H. Preston
The death of Joseph Henry Preston, husband of Elizabeth Ellis, occurred Friday morning at his residence. Mr. Preston was born in Meadowvale, Ontario. He was the son of the late Joseph Preston and Phoebe Rancier. Prior to moving to Long Island, N.Y. about 22 years ago Mr. Preston had been a resident of Brantford and Hamilton. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Merrick, while in Brantford having been a member of Colborne Street United Church. During the First World War he served overseas with the Canadian Forces from 1914 until 1919. Surviving besides his widow, are one daughter, Mrs. Fred (Shirley) Langdon Jr., Merrick; granddaughter, Barbara Ruth Langdon, Merrick, both of Long Island, N.Y., two sisters, Mrs. Earl (Verda) Martin, Brantford, Mrs. Milton (Jessie) Mulholland, Par View, Saskatchewan, Mr. Preston is resting at Wiegand Brothers’ Funeral Home, where the service will be conducted on Sunday. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Brantford, Tuesday morning.

Sunday afternoon the funeral service for Joseph Henry Preston, husband of Elizabeth Ellis, Merrick, N.Y. was conducted from the Wiegand Brothers’ Funeral Home, Baldwin, Long Island. Rev. Lee Barker, minister of the Merrick Presbyterian Church, officiated. Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery, Brantford, on Tuesday morning. Rev. Beverly L. Oaten, minister of Colborne Street United Church officiated, assisted by Rev. E.M. Carter. The pallbearers were Arthur Martin, Fred Hampel, E.M. Doeringer and E.M. MacDonald.
