Among other returned veterans of the Great War who will return to this city this afternoon at 3.52 will be: Robert Adlam of 64 Oak Street; Herbert Dallaway of 189 Rawdon Street and Thomas James Cullen.

BX March 25, 1943

Robert Adlam

The death took place at an early morning hour today in Brantford General Hospital of Robert Adlam, 48 River Road, in his fifty-ninth year. Born in   Somersetshire, England, he came to Brantford thirty-six years ago.  During the First Great War he enlisted in the 84th Battalion and later transferred to the 125th.  He had been employed at the Brantford Coach and Body since returning.  Surviving, besides his widow, are three sons, William and Thomas, Brantford, and Robert with the 1st Battalion Dufferin and Haldimand Rifles; six daughters, the Misses Edith, Georgina, Beatrice, Mary and Doris, at home and Mrs. Anthony Toti, City.  He is resting at the Beckett Funeral Home where service will be conducted Saturday afternoon with interment in the Soldiers’ Plot in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Robert Adlam

The funeral service of Robert Adlam was conducted at the Beckett Funeral Home, Saturday afternoon.  Rev. H.W. Mollina, Park Baptist Church, was in charge of the service.  The funeral was largely attended, those present including members of the Canadian Legion and other war veterans.  The “Last Post and “Reveille” were sounded by Bugler Bassent.  The pallbearers, all members of the Canadian Legion were E.R. Edwards, H. Twidale, J. Wilde, R. Clarke, J. Nagyard and W. Hinton.  Interment was in the Soldiers’ Plot, Mount Hope Cemetery.
