Robert Clifford Bannister, beloved husband of Gladys’ Doherty, and dear father of John and Peter, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Bannister of St. George, Ontario, in his 48th year. Resting at Fred W. Matthews Col. Chapel, 665 Spadina Avenue, Toronto. Service in the Chapel, Friday, June 11, 3.30 p.m. Interment in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Motor Co. Executive R.C. Bannister Dies – Vice-President of Kingsway Hunt Club and Director of Canadian Importers
Robert Clifton Bannister, 46 for many years prominent in the automobile business, died yesterday at his Queen Mary’s drive Home, following an illness of 15 months. Mr. Bannister was a native of St. George, Ont., and before coming to Toronto in 1925 was in the automobile business in Hamilton. In Toronto he was sales manager of the Brey-Nash Motors Ltd. And was vice-president during the last six years.
He was vice-president of the Car-U-Drive Co., a past-president of the Toronto Executive association, a director of the Toronto Automobile Trade association, a past director of the Canadian Importers’ association, vice-president of the Kingsway Hunt club and a member of Wellington Masonic Lodge and the Royal York Golf club.
Surviving are his widow, Gladys Doherty Bannister, two sons, John and Peter, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Bannister, St. George, a brother, Leslie Ottawa and a sister, Mrs. Earl Gould, Brantford. The funeral will be held Friday at 3.30 p.m. from the chapel of Fred W. Matthews, Spadina Ave. to Park Lawn Cemetery.
