Mr. Wilfred Seymour Smith, formerly ledger-keeper at the bank of Montreal has passed the qualifying medical examination and has been accepted as a volunteer for the special machine gun corps of the Queen's Own Rifles, Toronto. Mr. Smith is the son of the late Major Smith who was with the Imperial forces stationed at Bermuda and the local volunteer saw a number of years of active service in Bermuda. He is now awaiting further orders from Ottawa and it is expected that the corps will be asked to report at Quebec within a few days.
