Mrs. R. Eastman of 157 Murray Street has received word from the Canadian Red Cross Society of London, England, that her son Private William Joseph Eastman of the 124th Canadians is now at Brook War Hospital, Woolwich, London. A Red Cross visitor called on him here and found him suffering from the effects of having been buried in a trench. This had affected his legs, but it is hoped that it is only temporary. Another brother Pte. Henry Eastman and his father are overseas. He and his brother went overseas with the first overseas battalion from the 38th Dufferin Rifles.
